This 33 acre beach is the largest in the area. Features include a miniature golf course, fishing area, softball fields, volleyball courts, sailboat/windsurf/kayak rentals. Parking fee: $15 per car.

East Haven Town Beach is a sandy beach with a picnic area, bocci ball and beach volleyball courts. There are also showers and pavilion available at this site.

The largest beach in Connecticut, Hammonasset stretches along picturesque Long Island Sound and sits on 923 acres. The park sports 2 miles of beach, fishing areas, boating, swimming, and hiking trails. There is a fee to enter the park.

The Long Ridge Swim and Tennis Club, Inc is a 45 year-old private tennis and swim club located in Stamford, Connecticut. The club boasts one the largest heated pools in Fairfield Country, with a separate pool and playground for children under 8 years old. Nine professional tennis courts (5 lit for night play) complete with a pro-staff available for private and group lessons for all ages. A delectable snack bar facility. An active social calendar with something for everyone.

Madison Surf Club

The Surf Club is a town owned 45 acre park with scenic views of Long Island Sound. Picnic areas, sports areas, and supervised swimming are provided at this beach. There are seasonal food concessions and seasonal restrooms at this site. Memorial Day through Labor Day access limited to pass holders. Passes are available for purchase in advance at the Madison Recreation Office Mon.-Fri. 8:30-4 or by mail. See web site for details. Coast Guard approved life vest permitted. Rafts or other inflatables not allowed. Pets not allowed during season (Memorial Day thru Labor Day). All other times pets must be kept on leash and only allowed in parking lots or nature trails (no pets allowed on beach or in picnic area).

From I-95 north and south: take Exit 18. From Route 1, take the Sherwood Island Connector past I-95 directly into the park.

From Route 15: take Exit 41 or 42 south onto Route 33 south. Go west onto Route 1 to the Sherwood Island Connector.

Silver Sands State Park

Milford
Exit 35 off I-95

Currently has no parking fee. To access Silver Sands State Park, take Exit 35 off of I-95, School House Road. Go towards the Boston Post Road (Route 1). Take a left onto Route 1. At your first light, take a right onto Silver Sands State Parkway. Silver Sands has a wooden boardwalk and at low tide there is a sand bar that connects Charles Island to Silver Sands Beach. Charles Island is a 14-acre island that is rumored to hold Captain Kid's buried treasure. The island is now a nature preserve and part of Silver Sands State Park. Swimming and fishing (saltwater) are allowed at this park.
Admission is free.

Watch Hill

Watch Hill, Rhode Island
Located minutes east of Westerly on Bay Street Same Exit as Foxwoods Casino
The village of Watch Hill sports the more tranquil cousin to Misquamicut. This is a terrific scenic beach, and requires a walk of at least one half mile from your car. This area is more popular with boaters and bird-watchers. A noticeable landmark is the Fort Mansfield, which is an attractive spot for photographs. The beach has no facilities or snack bars, although dining can be found in Watch Hill village itself. On-street parking is free but on a one or two hour time limit. The surf is different here, this is the Atlantic Ocean not Long Island Sound.

Beach amenities include public grills, picnic areas, tennis courts, restrooms. Reservations are required for the tennis courts. A $25 parking fee per car is charged.
